Singer D’banj has congratulated his younger colleague Wizkid following his win at the 2021 Grammy awards.
D’banj popularly known as ‘The Koko Master’ shared a reel that contained a video of himself singing and a picture of Wizkid squatting with his award on Instagram on Friday, as he also said Wizkid’s win is a win for the culture.
“TGIF …. Now that you are in my Zones, Your Cheque is in the Post…Major shoutout to my brother @wizkidayo.
“Congrats on your win at the #GRAMMYs. Big win for the culture! The journey that started years ago is finally yielding great results. Africa to the world,” he wrote.
Wizkid won the Best Music Video for his collaboration with American singer Beyonce on the song ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
Another Nigerian to take home a Grammy at the awards which held last weekend was Burna Boy, who won the Best Global Album for his Twice As Tall album.
