Controversial rapper Naira Marley on Wednesday accused Nigerians of not being truthful about sex following backlash over his new song ‘Coming’.
The rapper made the statement in an Instagram post, claiming his song was number one on the charts despite the country’s conservative disposition to matters around sex.
He wrote, “I released a sex song called ‘coming’ in a country where everybody loves sex and lies about it and people think I’m stupid. Nobody’s listening to ‘coming’ apparently but it’s on number 1.
“I come in peace sha 💦 keep streaming y’all.”
Naira Marley teased on the day he released the song with tweets that he was expecting the song to be banned.
In another tweet, he expressed surprise that the song had not been banned yet.
