Founder and CEO of Mavin Records Don Jazzy has revealed that he got married at 20 and was divorced two years after.
The 38-year-old made the revelation in an Instagram post on Saturday.
It comes days after a tell-all interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu in the BlackBox series.
According to the music producer, he got married almost 18 years ago to UK-based model and writer Michelle Jackson.
The marriage ended because he made music priority instead of his family.
“I loved love and I loved marriage. Michelle is soooo beautiful inside and outside with such a soft heart. But then me being so young and full of dreams I went and f**ked it up cos I was giving all my time to my Music. Music became priority instead of my family. We got divorced when I was 22 and it hurt. I am still very much in love with my music and I wouldn’t want to marry another and f**k it up again. So I’m taking my time,” he wrote in the Instagram post.
The man who said he like to keeps his past or present relationships private added that he “felt bad skipping this huge part of my life” out of the interview with Ebuka.
Among the things Don Jazzy spoke about in the BlackBox interview were his new house, rumours that he was broke, growing up in Ajegunle and discovering music in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.
He also spoke about founding Mo’Hits with his friend and former partner D’banj Mo’ Hits and the G.O.O.D Music deal which ultimately led to the two breaking up as business partners.
