The Synagogue Church of All Nations on Saturday, June 12 marked the 58th posthumous birthday of its founder Prophet Temitope Joshua.
In celebrating the man known to the world as TB Joshua, the church recalled the cleric’s words on how he wanted to celebrate his 58th birthday.
Joshua had appeared in a video posted on social media on Friday, June 4 where he addressed the public on the way he would celebrate his 58th birthday.
He looked healthy in the video as he walked about while looking at the camera and making his speech.
The preacher said many people would have loved to come celebrate physically with him, but for the COVID-19 pandemic which has caused tremendous changes in world system.
He, however, urged all to dedicate June 12, his birthday, to fasting and prayer and supporting the needy, adding that there were more birthdays to celebrate by the grace of God.
Joshua died the day after the video was posted. He participated in a church programme that fateful day.
However, the church on Saturday, June 12 took an excerpt from Joshua’s speech in the video of June 4 to remind well-wishers of the clergyman’s desire.
“‘Let us dedicate this day (June 12th 2021) to prayer and fasting. Don’t forget the needy,'” its post to social media read.
Joshua’s death has devastated many who benefitted from his generosity.
In 2020, he said in a video that God wanted him to celebrate his 57th birthday by reaching out to people in need.
Joshua’s philanthropy has been even more evident in the insistence of the traditional ruler in his hometown Arigidi Akoko in Ondo State for him to be buried there.
Unfazed by the lack of support from top religious leaders in Nigeria, former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode penned emotional words to celebrate Joshua’s legacy on his 58th posthumous birthday.
Musician Daddy Showkey also had touching words for Joshua.
