Nollywood actor Mofe Duncan has appeared to regret his celebrity status after stating that being famous is a “curse”.
The 38-year-old actor took to his Instagram page on Monday to address the hike in price of things for celebrities, saying he bought a bunch of plantains for N6,000.
After the post, some social media users accused him of faking it just to remain relevant.
The actor then complained about the scrutiny he was subjected to by social media users who claimed he lied about the price of the plantains.
He added that being a celebrity is a curse sometimes as he has to filter whatever he’s posting, and even then, it still gets dissected.
“Its crazy though, they weren’t there o but yet they are so sure of the facts,” Mofe wrote.
“Celebrities una de try sha.You marry, na lie, you breakup, na lie, you give birth, na lie, you say something, na lie, you don’t say something, na still lie.
“Everything you do is questioned and dissected. You scrutinize every post you’re about to put up because you have to be sure its not blog worthy.
“After driving 1hr to find plantain, N6000 was a small token to pay for my own happiness, yet I de lie. Being famous is a curse sometimes,” he added.
