Convener of #RevolutionNow movement Omoyele Sowore has been arrested at the trial of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
Mr Sowore was arrested at the Federal High Court in Abuja during a Facebook Live session on Monday morning. He was leading a protest in solidarity with Kanu.
The Sahara Reporters’ publisher was later released alongside others.
“They have just released us. They dragged, harassed and beat us. They took us to the Federal Secretariat Police Station. I told them that they have no right to arrest me,” he said.
“I have a right to observe the trial of Nnamdi Kanu. They took our cards and deleted all recordings.”
