Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun on Saturday announced his family had received the body of his father Emmanuel Abiodun.
The remains of the deceased were received at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) from London, United Kingdom on Friday night by Abiodun and other members of his clan.
The governor shared photos of the emotional moment the body was received on social media.
“We have received the body of my late father, Dr Emmanuel Adesanya Abiodun.
“Dad lived a life that’d still have been missed, even if he remained with us till 2022 when we had planned to celebrate the 90th birthday of a man who respected everyone around him and lived a humble life. Rest on, rest eternally, Dad,” he wrote.
The older Abiodun died on August 2, 2021 at the age of 89 after a brief illness.
An educationist by profession, the deceased worked as a school teacher for many years across the old Western State and was fondly called baba teacher due to his dedication to duty imparting knowledge and inculcating the right values in his students.
