LGBT rights activist Bisi Alimi has revealed his forthcoming plans of owning a gay club in Mushin, Lagos.
Alimi made this known in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“One day soon, there will be a club named ‘gay Lagos’ and I will own it and it will be in Mushin. One day very soon,” he wrote.
Alimi gained international attention when he became the first Nigerian to disclose his sexuality and HIV status on television.
In April 2007, he was forced to flee Nigeria following threats to his life. He was granted asylum in 2008 in the UK where he has been a resident since. On December 8, 2014, he was conferred with British citizenship.
