Max Air passengers left stranded for hours in Lagos

Domestic airline Max Air Nigeria left hundreds of passengers stranded over the weekend at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for over five hours without any explanations or apologies.

Many of the passengers slept on chairs and the floor of the airport.

The flight which was first scheduled on August 21 for 5.20pm was moved to 7.50pm and three times later up to 11.45pm when the airline stopped any public announcements of movements.

As of 1.30am, the passengers were still at the airport unattended. Many of the passengers could not leave the airport due to the curfew in Lagos.

Staff and officials of the regulatory bodies Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) failed to intervene in the plight of the customers.
