Founder of Living Christ Mission Inc, Victor Onukaogu, popularly known as Daddy Hezekiah, has cautioned critics of late Prophet TB Joshua of the Synagogue of All Nations (SCOAN) against denigrating the latter.
The cleric said this following attacks on Joshua by Pastor Chris Okotie of the Household of God Church and other preachers who accuse Joshua of occultism.
Hezekiah, who led a prayer march for the reelection of former US President Donald Trump in Imo last year, said although Joshua had his challenges as human, denigrating him, particularly at death was uncalled for.
Fielding questions from newsmen at the 37th Anniversary of the Temple Mothers of the church, the cleric noted it was more worrisome when men of God were involved in such criticisms.
He insisted the deceased should be allowed to rest, having affected many lives who he said, would miss him greatly.
“Many men of God criticised him so much even after his death. They said many things about him. I’m not going to say whether he was a true or false prophet.
“But one thing I know is that he was a human being. He had his own followers and admirers. He had people he helped. Now the man is dead, we should allow him to rest instead of he did this or did that.
“To me, they’re not necessary. He had a family and I believe very strongly that man really helped so many people. Many temptations came his way, especially when his synagogue collapsed and many people died. Now the man just passed on like that.
“I’ll encourage all other men of God to stop calling him names. I know some people will say I’m his fan but I believe in saying what God wants me to say. No matter what, death is death. Since he’s gone, it’s a great loss to his family, the church and his admirers,” Hezekiah said.
