Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday received the chief of army staff Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya at the State House in Marina.
Mr Sanwo-Olu said he gave the army chief his word that the state would continue to provide logistics support for security agencies.
“I also reiterated the need to prioritize safety in our state, given its economic importance and geographic location as one of the country’s international borders. And, uniquely not only the land borders, it is also an international route in and out of the country through the air and waterways,” he said.
The governor urged Yahaya to further share intelligence with the state government and ensure rapid response to security challenges.
President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Yahaya army chief in May to replace Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru who died in a plane crash.
