Paris Saint-Germain, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has finally shed some light on his possible future destination.
Ibrahimovic, 34, has won league titles in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France during a sparkling career, but could finally move to England when his deal expires in the summer.
The former Barcelona and Milan striker’s contract with the French club will expire at the end of the current season and speculations regarding a possible switch were fuelled by the lack of interest on the Swede’s part to open new contract talks with his club.
Just after the home victory over Chelsea in the Champions League, the charismatic forward hinted that he would be open to a move to the Barclays Premier League after the end of this current campaign.
Ibra’s agent, Mino Raiola, had declared back in January 2016 that his client’s impressive physique, strength and playing style would be ideally suited for the kind of football played by England’s top clubs.
When asked directly about his future, the Swedish striker told reporters, “I have another three months here and, then, what will happen? Big things will happen. So let’s see.”
He was also asked if he would be open to a switch to the Premier League, in reply to which he said, “Let’s just say I am in good shape.”
His last comment simply puts focus on the comment his manager had made some time ago and added fuel to the speculations. With England being a possible target, a move to the United States and Qatar cannot be ruled out altogether.
Speculations regarding Ibra’s move to Manchester United strengthened over the last couple of months and the general consensus is that the Swedish International might want to look for a reunion with his former boss Jose Mourinho, who is currently the top-most contender for the managerial position at Old Trafford, if Van Gaal is relieved of his duties.
