Comedian Mr. Macaroni has vowed to proceed with the #EndSARS anniversary protest in spite of the threat issued by the Lagos State commissioner of police against the exercise.
#EndSARS memorial protests are billed for October 20, one year after security forces opened fire on unarmed protesters at Lekki toll gate in Lagos.
However, in a statement on October 11, the commissioner of police Hakeem Odumosu threatened that the police would use all legitimate means to stop the proposed protests in support of #EndSARS movement.
Reacting in a Twitter post on Tuesday, Mr Macaroni who stated that it was impossible to forget those who were killed during the protest revealed that the protest will be carried out in cars to minimise police harassment.
“It is impossible for us not to memorialize our fallen heroes. We will never forget. Innocent Nigerian citizens waved flags and sang till they were shot at, injured and killed.
“We must never forget. We’re rolling up in cars tomorrow to drive through the tollgate. We know their way, so a procession of cars is the safest option to minimised police harrassment,” he wrote.
The comedian who is also an activist portrays the character of the modern-day Nigerian politician in his skits.
He was among those arrested during the #OccupyLekki protest back in February and has continued to speak on the inadequacies of the government.
