Nollywood actress has mourned the victims of the Lekki Tollgate massacre.
On October 20, 2020, security forces opened fire at unarmed protesters at Lekki tollgate in Lagos for protesting against bad governance and police brutality.
Remembering the victims, the actress in an Instagram post on Wednesday, said that no matter how many times a lie flies, it will never trump the truth. She also added that those who lost their lives during the protest will never be forgotten.
“20 : 10 : 20 NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES A LIE IS TOLD, IT WILL NEVER TRUMP THE TRUTH!! FOR THE LIVES THAT WERE LOST AT THE LEKKI TOLL GATE AND ACROSS OUR NATION NIGERIA. FOR THE MILLIONS OF VOICES RAISED CRYING FOR TRUE CHANGE. FOR JUSTICE, PEACE AND EQUITY
“WE REMEMBER YOU OUR HEROES WHO WERE CUT DOWN IN YOUR PRIME, THOUGH ALL YOU RAISED WAS THE NIGERIAN FLAG FOR AN END TO ALL FORMS OF BRUTALITY!! WE REMEMBER YOU….WE WILL NEVER FORGET,” she wrote.
Singer Falz and comedian Mr Macaroni were also spotted at the Lekki Tollgate leading the #EndSARS memorial protest with other Nigerian youths.
Protesters were seen in buses chanting the words “EndSARS, EndSARS”.
