Singer Falz has said that they are going to ensure the release of anyone who may have been arrested during the #EndSARS memorial protest on Wednesday.
The singer who led the protest said this in an Instagram post on Wednesday. Falz also said that seeing the number of people who came to pay tribute to the victims of the protest made him emotional. He also added that if anyone was picked up during the protest, they will ensure their timely release.
“It’s every emotional seeing so many people out here coming to memorialize our heroes. We didn’t know so many people would come out. Thank you to everyone that came out today, we are definitely not going to leave anyone behind, if anyone has been picked up, we are going to make sure they’re released on time,” he said.
Comedian and actor Mr Macaroni who also joined the protest made an Instagram post saying that the people are not the enemy. He also called on the government to stop the killing of Nigerian youths.
“The People are Not the Enemy! Stop Killing Us! Stop Oppressing us! All we want is a better Nation that we all can be Proud Of. May The Lives we have lost to any form of Government Oppression or Police Brutality never be in vain,” he wrote.
