Farida Fasasi, widow of the late Sound Sultan has remembered her husband’s involvement in the #EndSARS protest on October 20, 2021.
Sound Sultan was one of the celebrities who spearheaded the protest last year. The singer also sang in one of the protests.
Remembring her husband, Farida shared a photo of the late singer addressing Nigerian youths during the protest, she also shared Sound Sultan’s cover of Kiss Daniel’s single ‘Fuck You’.
Sound Sultan died of throat cancer on July 11, 2021. He was aged 44.
Meanwhile, singer Yemi Alade also joined in commemorating the first anniversary of the #EndSARS protest.
The 32-year-old shared a video of herself singing her song ‘Dignity’ as a way of adding her voice to the memorial protests.
The song which features Angelique Kidjo speaks against oppression and brutality.
Yemi Alade shared the music video on Instagram with the hashtag “We will never forget.”
