A Federal High Court, Abuja has fixed November 29 to hear a suit filed by Precious Chikwendu against her estranged husband Femi Fani-Kayode.
The hearing was adjourned following Justice Inyang Ekwo’s inability to preside at Wednesday’s sitting.
Chikwendu had in a fundamental rights enforcement application asked the court to award her N800 million as damages against Mr Fani-Kayode who is a former aviation minister, and four others.
The applicant sued the inspector-general of police; deputy inspector-general of police, Force CID; commissioner of police of the FCT; CSP James Idachaba, officer-in-charge, legal (CID), FCT Command, and her ex-husband as first to fifth respondents respectively.
According to Chikwendu, the respondents have subjected her to harassment in respect of child custody matters between her and Fani-Kayode.
The former beauty queen wants the court to restrain the IGP and his officers from intimidating and harassing her in any form, pending the hearing and determination of her suit seeking the custody of her four children, among other reliefs.
In the affidavit in support of the application, she alleged that Fani-Kayode, who is also a qualified legal practitioner, had been using the police to harass and intimidate her despite the pendency of the matter in court.
Fani-Kayode also filed a counter affidavit, accusing Chikwendu of leaving the house by herself.
He deposed in the counter affidavit that Chikwendu never showed the children a mother’s love. According to her, she hired 12 nannies and denied the children of breast milk.
