Singer 2face Idibia has reacted to the arrest of Socialite Obi Cubana by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Obi Cubana arrived at the EFCC headquarters in the afternoon of Monday, November 1 for questioning over alleged money laundering and tax fraud.
Reacting in an Instagram post on Tuesday, 2face uploaded a photo of the businessman, describing his arrest as a fishing expedition. He also demanded the release of Obi Cubana
“Fishing expedition #freeobicubana,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, in another Instagram post 2face’s colleague Paul Okoye and actor IK Ogbonna also condemned the arrest.
“Have you seen a giant today ???@obi_cubana You will forever stand tall,” Ike wrote.
Paul Okoye shared Cubana’s entertainer of the year recognition on his Instagram story.
A former Big Brother Naija housemate, Chukwuemeka Okoye, better known Frodd, also added his voice to those supporting Obi Cubana.
Obi Cubana made headlines for several weeks in July over the lavish funeral for his mother, Ezinne Iyiegbu, in Oba, Anambra State.
The star-studded ceremony had celebrities and politicians Kanayo O Kanayo, Davido, Kcee, E-money, Cubana Chief priest, Peter Obi, Shina Peller and Abba Kyari in attendance.
