Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday visited the scene of the 21-storey building that collapsed on Monday on Gerrard Road in the Ikoyi area of the state.
Sanwo-Olu visited the site at about 1 am.
The governor, in a post on Instagram, sent his condolences to the families who have lost loved ones in the incident.
He also appealed to the bereaved families and relatives of those still missing to remain patient as the “rescue workers work tirelessly to make sure everyone still under the rubbles is rescued.”
Sanwo-Olu assured that his administration would get to the root of the incident.
On Tuesday, the governor suspended the general manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) Gbolahan Oki indefinitely with immediate effect and ordered an investigation into the collapsed building.
