Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday visited survivors of the 21-storey building which collapsed on Monday on Gerrard Road in Ikoyi area of the state.
Mr Sanwo-Olu took time to listen to them as they narrated how they managed to survive, his chief press secretary Gboyega Akosile said in an Instagram post.
The governor said he gave the survivors his word that they will get the best of care in the hospital, and “would not be discharged until they have been given the all-clear by the medical team attending to them.”
Sanwo-Olu said on Wednesday that his administration had set up a medical base and help/information desk at the site of the collapsed building for the purpose of identifying the victims.
He enjoined relatives of victims to visit with the following: name and contact address of family representative, name and contact of victim(s) and photographs of the victim(s).
He also announced a website www.lagosmind.org/help.
Also, on Thursday, the governor inaugurated a panel of six members that will probe the circumstances that led to the collapse of the building. The panel has 30 days to probe the incident.
