Taiwo Odukoya’s children pay tribute to stepmum Nomthi

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya and wife Nomthi Odukoya

Tolu Odukoya-Ijogun and Jimmy Odukoya, children of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya and his late first wife Bimbo Odukoya, on Wednesday paid tribute to their stepmother Nomthi Odukoya who died on Tuesday after a two-year battle with cancer.

Odukoya, who is the senior pastor of Fountain of Life Church, got married to Nomthi in 2010, five years after Bimbo died in the 2005 Sosoliso Airlines crash.

Jimmy shared a video on Instagram of Nomthi dancing at one of the church’s services.

The actor, who is set to make his Hollywood debut in the movie Woman King, promised to take care of his father and the two sons Nomthi had with him.

“For we do not grieve as though we have no hope, for we are confident of this one thing; to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

“The pain we feel @pastornomthi is for us who you leave behind for we will miss you. We will take care of Dad and the boys!

“We love you but we know God loves you more! Continue to dance in the bosom of our Lord! Till we meet again!” he wrote.

His sister Tolu Odukoya-Ijogun also posted on Instagram a video of the family’s special moments, thanking the deceased for loving her father.

“Aunty Nom, You were such a beautiful light, an authentic Christian, and a woman that truly loved God. You were such a fighter. Cancer didn’t win; God wanted you all to himself and called you home.

“To say we will miss you is an understatement. Thank you for Tim-Tim and Jom-Jom. Thank you for loving my Dad the way you did. No more pain, Aunty Nom. Rest in the bosom of our Lord till we meet again to part no more. Good night, Aunty Nom,” she wrote.
