Actress Foluke Daramola has cleared the air on her visit to the campaign team of National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu.
In a video uploaded on Instagram on Friday night, Foluke claimed the purpose of the visit was to campaign for peace and unity and not to endorse Tinubu for the presidential seat as insinuated by the public.
“I am receiving a lot of insults and horrific comments on my page. Maybe I need to set the record straight. What we went to do yesterday was nothing to do with politics. We are in a group that is advocating for peace and unity in Nigeria. Though I’m a member of APC but we did not go in the capacity on endorsing Asiwaju for president and it was not a nollywood thing. If people had seen the people that were there. We had some Nollywood people there but it was not about Nollywood.
“I was not paid in any way for this. It was meant to be a unity and peace campaign nothing more nothing less. Please don’t let it get twisted. It is not about anything to do with politics or Nollywood. Please let’s be guided,” she said in the video.
A video that went viral on Friday, shows the actress and some of her colleagues like John Okafor aka Mr Ibu, Harry Anyanwu and Benedict Johnson in a meeting with members of APC and Tinibu’s campaign team.
Contrary to Foluke’s claims, the video shows one of the actors Harry Anyanwu saying that Tinibu would one day become the president of Nigeria.
This sparked reactions as many accused them of collecting money from the presidential candidate to endorse him for president.
