Actor Damola Olatunji has been reportedly detained by the Nigerian Police after an ordeal at Abule Egba, Lagos State on Monday.
The actor wrote on Instagram on Monday saying, “They are detaining me at area P police station for standing up for the bike man.”
Damola Olatunji had confronted some police officers who he claimed were harassing a cyclist at Abule Egba.
The movie star shared a video from the scene showing the police officers and some Nigerians walking by.
“Hello everyone, They are extorting people of their hard-earned money, making life hard for them. And this one had the guts to take my phone because I was recording them, all I said was let this man ride his bike by himself and he called me an animal. If only we can stand up for ourselves,” he said in parts
The video also shows a police officer looking away from the camera as the actor tried to capture his face.
