A goal each from Samuel Chukwueze and Taiwo Awoniyi gave the Super Eagles a 2-0 lead against Sudan on Saturday in the first half of their Group D encounter at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
Chukwueze scored in the third minute and the Eagles controlled much of the game until Awoniyi doubled the lead in the closing minutes of the first half.
The Super Eagles were favourites going into their second game of the competition.
Coach Austin Eguavoen started the game with the same side that defeated Egypt in the group’s opening game.
