Presidential aspirant Bola Tinubu on Thursday met with former military President General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd.) at the latter’s uphill residence in Minna, Niger State.
Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello was also part of the meeting which lasted for an hour.
Tinubu told reporters after the meeting that he visited Babangida as part of the consultation for his presidential bid.
“You want to know the outcome of the consultation? We are running a democracy, I took my decision voluntarily and I am running for the presidency of the country, we are running a democracy,” he said.
“When I made the declaration, I told you that I am still consulting and I will consult as widely as possible and that is what I am here for. So, he gave me his prayers.”
The All Progressives Congress chieftain also donated N50 million to Niger State Government to help tackle insecurity.
