Veteran actress, journalist, television presenter, and cosmetologist, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett on Thursday celebrated her 81st birthday.
The actress shared stunning photos on Instagram to mark 81 years on earth.
In a message to herself, the movie star prayed for a joyful and exciting life.
she wrote: “Today, on my 81st birthday, I say a lovely prayer for myself: that my life be joyful, exciting and that I reap the full benefits of my labor. I pray that the remainder of my life will be the finest of my life and that I will have no regrets for the rest of my life.
“My remaining years would be jam-packed with activities, impacting others, loving myself and loving the people around me.I’m so thankful for all of you, thank you for showing me love, thank you for being a source of joy and happiness in my life. I am full of gratitude because I am privileged to see this day.”

Ajai-Lycett’s acting career started in December 1966 in Wole Soyinka’s The Lion and the Jewel, a two-act comedy directed by William Gaskill at the Royal Court Theatre in London. She did not plan to act but was in the rehearsal hall of the play when she was asked by Gaskill to be a participant.
Following positive reviews about her first performance, she decided to take acting seriously and enrolled at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
She appeared in several stage and television productions in the UK one of which is an episode of the hit comedy Some Mothers Do ’Ave ’Em.
