Former member of the House of Representatives Abdulmumin Jibrin says 14 governors are supporting the presidential bid of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Bola Tinubu.
Jibrin added in a tweet on Friday that four more governors are in talks to help support Tinubu win the election in 2023.
The former lawmaker, who is the director-general of the Bola Tinubu Support Group Council, further claimed that 26 APC chairmen across the federation have also confirmed their support for Tinubu.
Jibrin did not mention the governors backing Tinubu.
“14 Governors in and 4 in talks. 26 State Chairmen in. We will not attack or stop anybody from contesting,” he said.
“We are exercising our right of choice by promoting Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Do same for yours PLS. We will remain gracious and our doors open now and after the victories.”
Tinubu, in January, informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to contest the election.
Among those also vying for the party’s presidential ticket are Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and Senator Orji Kalu.
