A conversation which began on social media on Wednesday about the possible return of former President Goodluck Jonathan to power has stirred up diverse reactions.
Many are pushing the idea that Mr Jonathan is being considered to be consensus candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the party that defeated him in 2015.
Last year, Jonathan denied plans to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC. PDP leaders also met him to urge the former leader to remain with the party as it tries to retake power from the APC in 2023.
Amid claims of Jonathan’s possible return to Aso Rock lurks the ambition of APC bigwig Bola Tinubu to become president in 2023.
