Actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has joined pop star Davido and other Nigerian in prayers for Ukraine following the invasion by the Russian military.
Russia President Vladimir Putin ordered total demilitarisation of Ukraine on Thursday, February 24, sending troops who have been at the border for weeks into their neighbour’s country.
The attack comes amid plans by pro-west Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to join NATO, a move that Russia fears could threaten its security. Scores have lost their lives since Russia’s invasion began.
In a Twitter post on Friday, Omotola prayed for the people of Ukraine and those who are going through terror, fear and depression.
She wrote: “Praying for the people of Ukraine during these dark times. Also remembering all those who are going through any through terror, fear of depression.
“As people of the same human race in 2022, people shouldn’t fear for their lives from other humans either in the internet, through bullying, the cancel culture or in real life through attacks or war.”
