Isa Bayero, cousin of the emir of Kano Aminu Bayero, has come under criticism on social media following reports that he asked the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to punish Air Peace for alleged disrespect to the emir and Kano people.
In the petition sent on Thursday, Bayero said the airline delayed their Banjul to Lagos flight by one hour and refused to allow them board their connecting flight to Kano because they arrived in Lagos 30 minutes before departure time.
But Air Peace in a statement said it, in fact, did not disrespect the emir but did everything to protect his name and image by not giving in to Bayero’s demand.
Some Nigerians on Twitter, who have lent their voices to the matter, say Bayero’s demand was outrageous.
