The Presidency on Friday said President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Abuja on Sunday for his medical trip to London.
Buhari, who was earlier scheduled to travel to London after his Kenya trip, returned to Abuja on Friday.
The president had attended the 50th anniversary of the United Nations Environmental Programme in Nairobi, which was held from March 3-4, 2022, where he called for broader collaboration among UN member states to combat climate change.
Many had perceived Buhari was forced to change plans due to outrage over his London trip.
The president’s spokesman Garba Shehu, however, PUNCH that Buhari’s trip was only rescheduled.
He said, “Nothing changed about his planned trip to London. The earlier plan remains. He will leave for London on Sunday.”
Shehu added that the president returned to Abuja on Friday because he rounded up his engagements in Nairobi earlier, saying that he returned to pick a few things.
