The Erelu Okin, Pearl Ogbulu, who recently distributed gallons of petrol as souvenirs in Lagos, has honoured the invitation of the police.
“She came this (Tuesday) morning. She apologised but police will still take a decision to forestall recurrence of such,” a police officer told PUNCH.
Erelu Okin had on March 4 distributed jerry cans of petrol as a souvenir during her installation ceremony in the Oniru area of Eti-Osa Local Government, in Lagos State.
The incident sparked outrage among the populace, prompting the state government to move quickly in shutting Havillah Event Centre where the ceremony was held.
Lagos police commissioner Abiodun Alabi also ordered the arrest of people involved in the incident.
Erelu Okin had apologised for her action in a post to Instagram on Saturday, March 5, saying she only wanted to appreciate her guests for making it to the ceremony amid fuel scarcity in the country.
