Veteran actor Segun Arinze has reacted to Ghanaian actor John Dumelo’s statement about Black Stars of Ghana defeating Super Eagles of Nigeria at the World Cup qualifiers.
Dumelo in an Instagram post on Friday vowed to walk barefooted from Accra to Lagos if Super Eagles defeat Black Stars.
“There’s no way Nigeria will win today’s match. If they do, I John Setor Dumelo, will walk barefooted from Accra to Lagos tomorrow morning with my ginger on my head! Super eagles my foot,” he wrote.
Reacting in the comment section of the post, Segun, like his Nigerian colleagues, countered John’s statement saying he shall be denied entry to Lagos after the Super Eagles defeat Black Stars.
The Badagry-born actor also pointed out the irony in the name ‘Black Stars,’ noting that stars are shining, bright and not black. He also joked about the Eagles being super and able to fly hence their victory is certain.
“Don’t even bother trekking to Lagos. Cos we shall deny you entry at the border after trashing you. By the way, stars are shining and bright not black. Black connotes darkness. Eagles fly and ours are super,” Segun wrote.
Reacting, Dumelo insisted that his country will not be defeated because the Super Eagles won’t fly today.
“Oga the Eagles won’t fly today na. They can’t fly,” he replied.
