Ali Isah, the teenage son of the minister of communications and digital economy Isa Pantami, has been found after allegedly being abducted.
The 14-year-old was allegedly abducted shortly after closing from Islamiyya school late on Thursday. The Nation reports that he was whisked away by his abductors on a motorcycle.
Ali was found on Friday at a checkpoint in Dambam Local Government Area of Bauchi State, his mother told reporters.
The boy has been in the custody of his mother in Bauchi after her purported divorce from the minister.
Chief Imam of Isa Ali Jummaat Mosque, Imam Hussaini, also confirmed the boy’s release to journalists. “He is now home with his mum,” he said.
Bauchi police spokesperson Ahmed Wakil said the incident was not reported to the police.
