Several gunmen invaded Kaduna International Airport on Saturday, killing an official in the process.
The manager of the airport Amina Salami told Channels TV that the bandits invaded the airport through the perimeter fence from a nearby forest at about 1pm, and opened fire.
An employee of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) who was killed has been identified as Shehu Na’Allah.
Salami said the victim was around the runway when he was shot.
She said security agents immediately engaged the gunmen in a shootout and stopped them from gaining access into the main airport complex.
It was gathered that the incident delayed a scheduled Lagos-bound aircraft from taking off from the airport.
