Veteran musician Ebenezer Obey received a birthday cake filled with dollars on his 80th birthday celebration.
Media mogul Dele Momodu, in an Instagram post on Monday, posted a video of the 80-year-old receiving guests who came to celebrate him.
To celebrate reaching a milestone age, Obey was presented with a birthday cake filled with dollars.
Ebenezer Obey held a Thanksgiving service in celebration of his big day at Decross Gospel Mission, Age which had in attendance personalities like Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Dele Momodu and many others.
The veteran began his professional career in the mid-1950s after moving to Lagos. He was trained by the late Fatai Rolling Dollar.
Chief commander, as he is fondly called, formed a band called The International Brothers in 1964, playing highlife–juju fusion.
With more than five decades of active singing, the Egba-born singer is internationally recognised for evolving a unique juju sound from highlife music.
