Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has presented new cars to district heads and local government chairpersons in the state.
Mohammed said in a Facebook post on Friday that the gesture was part of efforts to appreciate the recipients for their commitment to the progress of the state.
“I presented brand new official cars to the local government chairmen and district heads across Bauchi State,” he wrote.
“The official vehicles were presented to the beneficiaries in appreciation of their commitment to the progress and development of the state.
“At the event, I also appealed to the district heads to assist my administration in ensuring improved healthcare delivery and maintenance of security, among others—for the state’s rapid development.”
The development comes days after Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle gave out 260 cars to traditional rulers in his state whom he had earlier accused of abetting banditry.
