Minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi on Saturday announced he would be contesting the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 general election.
“I stand before you today to declare my intention and submit my application to serve as your next resident,” he said at a thanksgiving service at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Igwuruta, near Port Harcourt.
The service was organised by the Rivers State chapter of the APC.
Amaechi joins a host of others seeking to be the party’s candidate for the presidential election next year. Others who have declared their interest in the top job include former Lagos governor and senator Bola Tinubu, Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi, and Senator Rochas Okorocha.
