Amarachi Eze, twin sister of the late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu, has alleged that her brother-in-law refused her a lifelong dream of being her sister’s bridesmaid.
Since Osinachi’s death, her family has been making allegations of domestic violence against her husband Peter Nwachukwu.
In an interview with freelancer Hyacinth Ogbu, Eze said, “I’m traumatised. It was at a gospel singing programme in Abuja they met. She rejected him but he would call me obsessively to help persuade my sister. They didn’t court but he paid the bride price and they wedded.
“He refuse me being the bridesmaid, something my sister and I had promised we’d do for each other, and I wept. He became overcontrolling and prevents Osinachi from picking calls.”
Eze further said that Nwachukwu vowed to spilt her and her sister and that Osinachi would sometimes stay away from home even while she was sick to avoid the marital trauma.
“When we were to perform a gospel song together, he locked her up. People feared him. He would refuse her to visit us when she comes to Enugu. Osinachi would fall sick but she’d not stay home for fear of maltreatment,” she added.
Eze noted that her sister would have been more successful as a musician but for the alleged overbearing man she married.
