Presidential aspirants in the opposition party such as former Senate President Bukola Saraki, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former governor of Anambra State Peter Obi did not attend an Iftar dinner organised by the first lady Aisha Buhari on Saturday at Old Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja.
At the time of the opening prayers, some of the aspirants present were Bola Tinubu, David Umahi, Bala Mohammed and Chris Ngige.
Others in attendance were Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i, minister of Niger Delta affairs, Godswill Akpabio; a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Barnabas Gemade; and former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
Mrs Buhari invited all presidential aspirants from every political party to the Ramadan Iftar.
However, her attendees comprised mainly those in the All Progressives Congress.
