Actress Kate Henshaw has questioned the school authorities of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto over the killing of Deborah Samuel, a female student accused of blasphemy.
Ms Samuel, a 200-level student of the Department of Early Childhood Education in the college, was mobbed after being accused of blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad in a voice note she sent on her class WhatsApp group.
Reacting to the tragic loss in a Twitter post on Thursday, Kate Henshaw asked if the school authorities were aware of the incident, pointing out that it does not make sense.
The actress who retweeted an earlier tweet about the death wrote: “What???!!! in this day and age??? How?? In full glare of school authorities or what?? How?? Pls someone make it make sense. Life means nothing??!!!
In another tweet, the 50-year-old said she will not lose hope, adding that corrupt politicians and killers will not win.
“No, I won’t lose hope!! They cannot win… Not thieving politicians. Not killers and marauders,” she wrote.
