Chairman of Ovation Media Group Dele Momodu on Wednesday paid a visit to the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) ahead of the memorial service of its founder, Prophet TB Joshua.
The 62-year-old made this known in an Instagram post, stating that he was preparing for the first anniversary of Joshua’s death. The preacher died on June 5, 2021.
Mr Momodu wrote, “On a visit to the Synagogue Church of All Nations this morning as we prepare for the first year transition anniversary celebration of the great man of God PROPHET TEMITOPE BALOGUN JOSHUA.”
In the video, the media personality was seen walking past different large pictures of Joshua. One of the pictures was captioned, “Celebrating the life and legacy of Prophet TB Joshua. Not mine but God’s own.”
During his visit, Momodu met Joshua’s widow and the church’s leader Pastor Evelyn Joshua at the Prayer Mountain in Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos.
Last year, Momodu paid a condolence visit to Joshua’s wife Evelyn following the death of her husband. He revealed he had known Joshua for over two decades and that sometime ago he featured the preacher on the cover of Ovation Magazine.
Speaking of the clergyman’s deeds during his lifetime, Momodu said Joshua supported him during his bid for the Presidency in 2011. He said the late televangelist gave him money despite telling him he would not win the election.
He recalled when he went with Joshua to Israel for the preacher’s crusade, stating that he paid for the trip and that he was surprised that even taxi drivers in Israel knew who Joshua was.
Momodu said, “I pray that papa’s soul will find peace, eternal rest in our Lord Jesus Christ. Whatever anybody may say about him, he lived a very good life. He lived a life worthy of emulation. As successful as he was, he was very simple, easy-going. And I’m sure he would not deliberately hurt a fly.”
