Senator Ibikunle Amosun has withdrawn his presidential bid at the ongoing primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, endorsing the candidacy of Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Tuesday night at Eagle Square, venue of the convention, the former Ogun State governor said: “We have somebody who can do the job and the person is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Similarly, the former minister of Niger Delta affairs Godswill Akpabio also announced he was stepping down from the presidential race.

Akpabio asked delegates of his state and others across other states to vote for Tinubu.

“For 2023, I want to join you to go with the president that has vision. I will join the next president with a vision. And as I withdraw now, I urge all the delegates, the delegates from Akwa Ibom State and all others to vote for Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu,” he said amid cheers from the crowd.

Next to deliver his speech was Amosun, who after a short while announced his decision to withdraw from the race and asked his supporters to vote for Tinubu in the “spirit of fairness.”
