Controversial musician Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has vowed to leave Nigeria for Ghana if presidential aspirants Bola Tinubu or Atiku Abubakar win the 2023 election.
Charly Boy made the promise in an Instagram post on Wednesday shortly after Tinubu won the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket for the 2023 general elections.
Reacting to Tinubu’s win, Charly Boy posted a photo of former Lagos State governor and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar saying, “If any of these two jabagantis win, I go just leave una walker go Ghana, go beg dem for citizenship. Buhari, will look like a saint.”
Tinubu defeated 13 other contenders to emerge as the flag bearer of the party at the Special National Convention of the party in Abuja on Wednesday.
On Saturday, May 29, Atiku emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
The former number two citizen scored 371 votes to emerge as the party flagbearer. Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike polled 237 votes.
Chairman and chief returning officer of the PDP special convention David Mark said total number of accredited delegates was 767, the total number of votes cast was 763, while 13 were invalid votes.
He said other aspirants such as Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa-Ibom polled 38 votes, while Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State got 20 votes.
