Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun and Kwara State counterparts, Dapo Abiodun and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq respectively, on Tuesday paid a visit to Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu over the attack on a church in Owo.
Mr Sanwo-Olu’s chief press secretary Gboyega Akosile posted a video of the governors’ visit on Instagram.
No less than 40 persons were killed when gunmen stormed St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo on June 5.
The Catholic Diocese of Ondo has said it will conduct mass burial on June 17 for the victims.
According to the church, no fewer than 40 people died in the attack while many others sustained various degrees of injuries.
Spokesman of the diocese Rev. Fr. Augustine Ikwu said the mass burial would take place at a new cemetery at Emure Road, Owo.
He said, “The mass burial would take place at the new cemetery of the church on Friday in Owo.”
Some of the injured victims are still receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center and the St. Louis Catholic Church both in Owo and some private hospitals in the state.
No arrest has been made over the incident.
