Media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has reacted to the arrest of former Nigerian Senate Deputy President Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice by the Metropolitan Police in London.
Ekweremadu and his wife are in police custody for alleged conspiracy to harvest the organs of a child.
Reacting to the news in a Twitter post on Thursday, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu stated that they are constantly exporting and importing disgrace.
“Constantly exporting and importing disgrace. SMH,” he wrote.
Ekweremadu, 60, and Beatrice, 55, have been remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 23.
According to the force, the investigation was launched after detectives were alerted to potential offences under modern slavery legislation in May 2022.
The child has been taken into protective custody, reports Sky News.
