President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide Apostle Johnson Suleman on Friday reacted to the arrest of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice in London, with prayers for them.
Ekweremadu and wife were charged to a court on Thursday with alleged conspiracy to harvest the organs of a minor.
The lawmaker has a daughter named Sonia who has been hospitalised and is in need of kidney transplant. Prosecutors believe Ekweremadu lied about the age of a male donor who was brought to London from Nigeria.
Suleman said in a tweet that God used to incident to preserve the minor’s life.
“Heard about the travails of the former deputy senate president, may God see him through..may God protect their child and spare her life.
“Thank GOD for preserving the life of that minor who was to be used,” the clergyman said.
Suleman, who has been dealing with sex allegations from US-based singer Stephanie Otobo for years, prayed further that the Ekweremadu couple would do the right thing.
“May God help them to do the right thing. This too shall pass!” he said.
A Magistrate Court in London denied the couple bail on Thursday and remanded them till next month.
