President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide Apostle Johnson Suleman has reacted to criticism which trailed his earlier comments about the former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.
Ekweremadu and wife Beatrice were on Thursday charged in the UK with alleged conspiracy to harvest the organs of a minor brought from Nigeria. Their daughter Sonia is in need of kidney transplant.
While Ekweremadu says the male donor is 21 years old, the police believe he is only 15 years old.
On Friday morning, Suleman prayed for all parties in a tweet. He however returned to Twitter after critics knocked him for his comments.
The clergyman said, “I just made a prayer for all those involved in the issue of the former deputy senate president and I see reactions.
“Since you have become the law court, take your hate somewhere else and don’t join those I have blocked..even a confirmed thief on the cross, Jesus prayed for him.”
Some politicians in Nigeria, especially Ekweremadu’s party men, have expressed support for him.
Also, the presidential candidate of Labour Party Peter Obi said he and his family are with the Ekweremadus at this trying time. Mr Obi also prayed for Sonia but was silent on the minor.
