Special adviser to Lagos State governor on environment and water resources Joe Igbokwe has deleted a Facebook post he made on Thursday alleging that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike met the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu in France.
Wike is holidaying in Turkey with Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. Tinubu, on the other hand, is in France where he will meet some APC stakeholders, according to his media office.
Mr Igbokwe raised dust with his post which read, “While they are on Social Media abusing everybody Gov Wike goes to France to meet Asiwaju. Abuse, calling names, hate and bigotry are no strategy.
“They hated and abused PMB since 2015 and now they have transferred the aggression to Asiwaju. We wait and see.”
Igbokwe’s unconfirmed post followed comments made by Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom which were critical of his party’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Ortom, an ally of Wike, recently said on Arise TV that he was still praying to know if God wanted him to support Atiku or not.
Wike is reportedly displeased that he was overlooked for the vice-presidential slot. Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was instead chosen.
Also, a former governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose raised further concerns that he would only support a southerner to be president in 2023. Atiku, a northerner, said in reaction on Thursday that he would address all concerns.
