Actress Patience Ozokwo says she misses filming on set with veteran actor Olu Jacobs and she does not think he can be replaced.
The 63-year-old said this at the 80th birthday of Jacobs held at the Glover Memorial Hall in Lagos on Sunday.
Patience Ozokwo also commended the actor for his acting skills.
“I’m missing him on set, he can play an Igbo king, he can play a Yoruba king, in fact, I don’t think anybody can replace him,” she said.
Others who also attended the event include, Hilda Dokubo, Ali Baba, Taiwo Ajayi Lycett, Victor Osuagwu, Ego Boyo, Ireti Doyle, Ini Edo, Kunle Afolayan Ngozi Nwosu and his wife Joke Silva.
In November 2021, Joke revealed in an interview with Chude Jideonwo that her husband has dementia and it has been hard on her and the entire family.
“He is dealing with issues and it is been going on for a couple of years. It is known as dementia with Lewy body, it is a degenerative disease that affects the brain and it is almost like a Parkinson type of disease, it affects the brain and affects the person…first time I’m saying this publicly….that is what we have been dealing…but the thing is, it is hard on him because he doesn’t understand what is going on and it is hard on us family members as well…we have gone through it over the past couple of years but we thank God, ” she said in parts.
Olu Jacobs received lifetime achievement awards at the 2021 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF). Joke Silva also congratulated him on the feat.
The veteran actor turned 80 on July 11, 2022.
